El Pinar de San Gines

El Pinar de San Gines is a beautiful complex situated in the area of La Azohia on the Costa Calida in Murcia.

Just 300 metres from the beach, the complex is made up of various residences: 2 and 3 bedroom apartments and four bedroom duplexes. The properties enjoy gardens, larges terrace and/or a solarium.

The Location
La Azohia is a wonderful family destination, situated to the south of Alicante, and around an hour’s drive from Murcia (San Javier airport). The area boasts over 35 kilometres of long, white sandy beaches and a beautiful mountain backdrop. To the far end of La Azohia there are stunning cliff formations that shelter beautiful sandy bays, perfect for bathing in the crystal clear waters.

The town itself is a traditional fishing town dating back to the Phoenician era, overlooked by an ancient polygonal watchtower, dating back to the 16th century.

There are ample shops, bars and restaurants for tourists. La Azohia is situated close to the busier seaside resort Puerto de Mazarron, with its blue flag beaches, ample amenities, market, golf and restaurants.

Both La Azohia and Puerto de Mazarron are very quiet aside from the summer season, making them the ideal destination for that "get away from it all" style holiday during the autumn, winter and spring months.

Accommodation
El Pinar de San Gines is a private residential complex set in extensive landscaped gardens with a community swimming pool and off-street parking.

There are two and three bedroom apartments with gardens and terrace, or a solarium, and four bedroom duplex apartments with large terraces. All the properties are fully equipped and furnished to the highest standards.

Many of the properties enjoy superb views to the coast and surrounding mountain range.

Places to visit
La Azohia is well situated with plenty of activities and leisure pursuits in the local region for all ages. The local beaches and those of Puerto de Mazarron have been awarded blue flags for cleanliness, are family-friends and offer ample water sports.

For those looking to enjoy the great outdoors, La Azohia is situated close to the Sierra Espuna National Park, with its many walking trails and view points to enjoy.

The historic city of Cartagena is just 24 kilometres away and offers plenty of shopping, cultural attractions and great restaurants.

There are a number of golf courses in the vicinity, including the famous La Manga Club

Cuisine
The local region is famous for its wonderful seafood dishes. Mouth-watering local dishes include bonito fish with noodles, peppers, garlic, sauté tomatoes and aniseed or Mazarrón sea bass oven baked with pepper, potatoes, tomatoes, dressed with pine nuts and speciality rice with lobster.

Climate
The local region enjoys a typical Mediterranean climate, with cool sea breezes in summer and protection by surrounding mountains against the cold North winds in winter.

The area averages nearly 3,000 hours of sunshine each year and the average temperature easily exceeds 20 degrees. In 1986 the World Health Organisation recommended the climate of the area as one of the most equitable in the world - neither too hot in the summer nor too cold in the winter. On average it can boast 325 sunny days each year making it an ideal all year round destination.
